FAQs

How Can Therapy Help My Teen?

Therapy can help teens build confidence, improve mood, and develop healthier relationships. It provides a space to process emotions, manage stress, and strengthen skills like communication, emotional regulation, and self-awareness. My goal is to support your teen in navigating life’s challenges while helping them recognize their strengths and feel more in control of their overall health.

How Do I Prepare My Teen for Therapy?

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and that’s okay! You can explain that therapy is a supportive space—not a punishment or something "wrong" with them. Let them know it's about learning new ways to handle stress, improve relationships, and better understand their emotions. Encourage them to approach it with an open mind, and reassure them that they’re in control of what they share.

What is Developmental Trauma?

Developmental trauma occurs when a child experiences repeated or ongoing stress and trauma throughout their early years, impacting emotional and psychological development.

What is Brainspotting Therapy?

Brainspotting is a focused mindfulness-based therapy that helps process and release deeply stored trauma in the brain and body. While it can be beneficial for many challenges, it is particularly effective in treating trauma.
